Brayan Rosado Named 2025-26 Taco Bell LDC Most Valuable Player

Brayan Rosado (196-F-2001) has been named the 2025-26 Taco Bell LDC Most Valuable Player, the league announced today.

Also named the LDC Defensive Player of the Year, Rosado becomes just the second player in league history to win both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season, joining Khalil Small (190-G-1995, college: Green Bay, agency: Interperformances) (2024). He is also only the fifth player in LDC history to earn both honors at any point in his career.

With this year’s selection, Rosado becomes the third player in LDC history to win back-to-back MVP awards and the 14th player to win multiple MVPs in a career.

“We are extremely grateful to witness Brayan earn the LDC’s Most Valuable Player award along with Defensive Player of the Year,” said Jermaine Barnes. “We want to send our congratulations to him and his family. Brayan is an elite player, and this historic achievement is a testament to his superior work ethic, character, and determination to improve every day. He is a special player and an even better person, which makes it that much more gratifying that he is once again recognized as our league’s MVP.”

Rosado delivered one of the most dominant seasons in league history, averaging 25.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, both career highs, while also contributing 3.6 assists per contest and shooting 51.4 percent from the field. He ranked second in the LDC in scoring and second in rebounding, and was the only player in the league to finish in the top five in both categories.

He was also the only player in the LDC to average at least 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game this season. In doing so, Rosado became the first player since Oliver Garcia in 2022, and only the third player in league history, to average at least 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists over a full season.

Rosado’s 2025-26 campaign was also one of the most efficient the league has ever seen. He posted his MVP numbers in just 30.4 minutes per game, resulting in a league-record 31.86 Player Efficiency Rating, the highest single-season mark in LDC history. He also recorded four games of 30 or more points in fewer than 30 minutes, which is three more than any player has ever had in a single season in league history.

Led by Rosado, Ponton finished as the LDC’s top regular-season team for the second straight year, posting an 11-1 record. Ponton outscored opponents by a league-best 10.1 points per game and finished the year as the league’s top scoring and top rebounding team. The club also led the LDC in both net rating and defensive rating, becoming the first team in league history to finish first in both categories in the same season.

The LDC MVP award was voted on by a LatinBasket.com panel of 10 sportswriters and broadcasters. Rosado earned 8 first-place votes to claim the honor over fellow finalists Randy Santos and Adonis Nunez, who finished second and third, respectively.

This marks the first MVP award in Ponton franchise history.
