About LDC Ignite
LDC Ignite is a first-of-its-kind developmental team created to prepare top young prospects for the next level, whether that be NCAA basketball, European leagues, or Latin American professional opportunities.
Based in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the LDC Ignite roster features a unique mix of Dominican prospects, American amateur players, and veteran mentors. This structure allows young athletes to gain high-level competition, professional guidance, and accelerated development as they begin their basketball careers.
Unlike a traditional LDC Superior League team, Ignite is built specifically for development and exposure. The program focuses on:
• Accelerated On-Court Development
• High-Level Competition
• Professional Mentorship
• NCAA and International Exposure
• Life Skills & Leadership Development
Veteran players on the roster serve as mentors and leaders, helping guide younger prospects through the transition from amateur to professional-level basketball.

High-Level Competition & Exposure
While Ignite is not a traditional LDC franchise, the team competes in:
• Select LDC Superior League Games
• LDC Cup Games
• Exhibition Games
• International Showcase Opportunities
These games serve as real-time development and "on-the-job training" for prospects competing against experienced players and professional-level competition.
USA NCAA Showcase Opportunity
As part of the program, 10 Dominican Ignite players will be selected each season to travel to the United States to compete against NCAA universities.
This opportunity provides Dominican players with direct exposure to college programs, creating potential pathways for scholarships and NCAA recruitment.
Pathway for American Players
The LDC Ignite Prospect Program also attracts American amateur players, including:
• NCAA-eligible prospects
• JUCO players seeking NCAA opportunities
• Players pursuing European contracts
• Undiscovered amateur talent
These players join Ignite to gain international experience, exposure, and development while competing in a professional-style environment.
NCAA Eligibility
Ignite players are not paid, allowing athletes to maintain their amateur eligibility and remain eligible for NCAA opportunities.
