Gil and King return to Santiago Basket!!

by Latinbasket.com

Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado (LDC) signed experienced shooting guard Amet Gil for upcoming 2023-24 season. It is actually his comeback to the Titans as he has played here before. Gil made the Titans a local power winning back-to-back United Cup titles under coach Travis McAvene.  He was later named Latinbasket.com All-United Cup Finals MVP while averaging an event best 21.4ppg.

"After a disappointing season we needed to make changes", said Titans GM Travis McAvene.  The last time we had success Ameth Gil was our star. It was my offseason priority to bring him back home.

Gil played this last season with the GIE Cibao Immortals in LDC league in Dominican Republic. In 12 games in LDC where just recently he recorded 14.1ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.8apg and 1.4spg. Gil helped them to make it to the Dominican Republic LDC Superior final. 2023-23 was a great season as he was named to Dominican Republic LDC All-Star Game. The other team he played was Pueblo Nuevo (Santiago League). He contributed to his team winning the championship a few years back.
Gil has spent his entire career in Dominican Republic playing for two other teams: Capitanes and Metros (LNB).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won United Cup Superior championship title in 2022. He was voted to Latinbasket.com United Cup All-Domestic Players Team in 2022.

"The Team needed changes and I suggested returning alot of the former champions", said new head coach Keith Closs.  After me and Travis signed Gil the next targer was Dallion King from the 2021 roster.  I see King as a Jason Terry type player with the Mavs.  We need scoring off the bench in order to win in the LDC Superior League.  King has the ability to be a starter.  We need that fire power this season.

Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado (LDC) strengthened their roster with addition of Dominican-American guard Dallion King for season 2023-24. It is actually his comeback to Santiago as he has played here before. Like Gil; King played last summer for the GIE Cibao Immortals in the 2022 United Cup. King and Gil would help the Immortals win their 8th United Cup National Championship.
He has played previously for Dominican Rep. team San Lazaro. King was drafted by Reales de La Vega in the 2019 LNB draft (LNB,1rd(3)).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-United Cup Honorable Mention in 2021.
