Not a big story in a game when Sameji (0-1) were outscored by Immortals de Cibao (1-0) in Santiago 115-84 on Sunday. GIE dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sameji' 30 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The Immortals forced 28 Sameji turnovers and outrebounded them 49-25 including a 38-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The Immortals looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Sameji's players. It was an exceptional evening for the forward Angel Rivas (198-F-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Import forward James Milton (203-F-1992, college: Stevenson) accounted for 28 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for the winning side. Five GIE players scored in double figures. Forward Domont Wright (203-F/C, college: Cleveland St.) came up with 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Milosevic Rivera (193-G-1996) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for the Immortals in the win. The Immortals will face the Evolve Olimpica Lions at home Tuesday night.

E.O. Lions - Capitanes de la Bahia 99-106

The game in Santiago was also quite interesting. Evolve Olimpica Lions (0-1) played at the court of Capitanes de la Bahiae (1-0). Capitanes de la Bahia managed to secure a 7-point victory 106-99 on Sunday. Capitanes de la Bahia looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Capitanes de la Bahia players. It was an exceptional evening for Rich Polanco (203-F-1997, college: S.Dakota) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Oliver Ferreira (189-G-1993) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. The Lions played a great game until the third period where we saw the Capitanes de la Bahia go on a 30-11 run. Aneurys Parra led all scored with 30 points and 4 rebounds in a losing effort. The Lions will face the Immortals de Cibao Tuesday night.
