LDC Superior Round 4: Immortals and Capitanes stay unbeaten
Sameji - Capitanes 109-121
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Santiago: Capitanes and Sameji. Sameji was defeated at home 109-121 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Capitanes made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Capitanes outrebounded Sameji 59-40 including 28 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Center Adris Rodriguez (203-1988) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 27 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Oliver Ferreira (189-1993) contributed with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Canadian-Ghanian point guard James Agyeman (178-1994) replied with 17 points and forward Jonathan Aybar (206-2001, college: UNF) added 16 points in the effort for Sameji. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sameji's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitanes' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Fenix.
